I need to post some new words for you. This bit came out of nowhere, it’s a few pages, The Wildblood series, and I have no idea what to do with it. You get a teaser. First, go check out the WeWriWa blog. Authors and snippets everywhere!

OK. This is a private conversation between Shan & Mac. Their relationship is complex, to say the least. It takes place after the events in The Vista, and before Renegades.

“When I was twelve, I thought we’d live together, forever. I imagined we had a yurt, up on the other side of the stables, so we could look out over The Vista from our front door. I’d raise herbs and you’d go hunting,” Shan mused.

“A couple hundred years ago, that might have worked out, for other people. Now that you’re twenty, everything looks different.”

“It doesn’t mean I have to like it.”

“Yes, it does, our lives go on, and it will be beautiful. Sometimes, it will be horrible, and difficult. That’s just the way life is, for everyone, even us.”

And there they are! As always, you can find all my eBooks and paperbacks on my website. I think next week, the new series gets a teaser!

Now for my words. Wade & Shannon, discussing the state of the world. They’ve spent all their lives trying to figure out what might be, and now that they have a hint, they aren’t so certain they were right. From Book 3 of The Wildblood, WIP.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

“The war started first, but the flu did more damage. It’s not like Hiroshima in most places, it’s like The Black Death. All of the material things were left, technologies, homes, cities, everything except people. The entire world is out there, waiting for us to go find it.”

“But there are people.”

He agreed, nodding, “There are people. We’re going to go out and find them. The vast majority of those people are going to have no clue as to our genetic predisposition unless we’re stupid enough to tell them. None of us are stupid.”

And that’s it for today. Book 3 is moving along, although, I suppose, I should seriously be thinking about a title. So many books, so little time.

You can find all the books in The Wildblood series here, plus a sneak peek at a brand new series.

OK, my words. Book 3 of The Wildblood, in progress. Shannon and another officer, discussing Mac, their unusual abilities, and the current emergency, which is far larger than any of them are aware of.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

“You or I will have to go deal with that,” Shan said. “I didn’t know if he sensed anything, just now. When the call came in from The Vista, I wasn’t expecting anything, not like this. I put up those blocks to keep him from it, but it took me by surprise. He could have gotten some bleed over.”

“If he did, I don’t think he knows what it was,” Ballentyne agreed. “Neither do I.” Of the three, Mac’s abilities were certainly the most errant. Their psychic abilities were uncontrolled, for the most part, and erratic.

“I don’t know what to say,” she started.

“Start with what you know.”

Yeah, I’m being pretty rough on them, in Book 3. If you’d like to catch up, all the other books in The WIldblood series are available in eBook and paperback formats.
