“You didn’t have permission to go to Colorado. That’s why Shannon went after you, that’s why you gave conflicting orders to keep her away,” Mac said, certain of it now.
“That’s not entirely accurate.”
“Accurate enough.”
“No,” Wade disagreed. “Technically, it’s about twenty-five percent accurate, but details are a moot point.”
“If we ever get to be old and gray, tell me what twenty-five percent I was right about.” Mac wasn’t angry, he was confused, and had been since July.
“I’ll do that,” Wade said.
