Has it really been 3 weeks?  Sorry about that.  I’ll try to be a little more regular about posting.

In the meantime, check out WeWriWa & SnippetSunday for sneak peeks with a lot of amazing authors and their current projects.

Tau Scorpii

When Taryn rescues another human from a marauding band of Caeruleum, she is reunited with clansmen long believed dead. It puts her at odds with their new chieftan, as well as her own partner, a powerful privateer. They discover, they have a more imminent problem, and must unite to survive.

The weather is changing. They’ll have to fight other species for control as migrations begin, food becomes scarce, and border wars erupt across the territories. Humans are no longer at the top of the food chain.

Tau Scorpii A, a massive red giant star in a binary cluster with Tau Scorpii B, a yellow dwarf. The solar system is populated by more than thirty planets, at least one habitable. Called Sedna by the SolTerrans that live there, named for a planet in their ancestral system. The desert is a dangerous place for alien species – and on Sedna, they’re all alien species.

These little villages, places that are there one month and moved after a harvest, they’ve been supplying alien clans with information about the human territories, probably for years. We went there to ask them to stop, and offer them protection,” Skye recited to her.

They weren’t interested.”

They told us, the season was about to change, and it didn’t matter, half the Near Desert would be an ocean of water in a year, so we all better pack up and move to higher ground.”

Taryn sucked in a deep breath, the multiple implications hitting her, “Did you know about the rain?”

No, we didn’t imagine anything like that, we put if off to superstition; rain doesn’t equal oceans of water. It was an open trade village, and word got around who we are, to someone brave or foolish enough to deal with the Caerule. They jumped us right out of town and grabbed Garrett, and you know the rest.”

Great, that means Asher was right,” she huffed, hands on her hips.

It took me 4 years, after I decided I should finish a very rough draft of this, to get it published. This was one of those thing I had to accomplish in my life, and I did it. The series is now complete. Check it out.

The Vista: Book 1 of The Wildblood – No one remembers what started the war, the big one. Civilization stopped, and what came next was fueled by rage and fear.

Twenty years on, a tiny refuge, a place called The Vista, may be one of the last vestiges of humanity. Isolated, guarded, and hiding a dark secret, the people have survived World War Last, and they are content with that. Their children, however, are not. The search for others will send them out into a world they know nothing about, where the line between enemy and ally is blurred.

  1. Congrats, Sheila! I’m glad you got that one off of your must-do list. Very intriguing snippet. Oh, the implications! Now they are not only moving, but all getting squeezed onto a smaller piece of dry ground. 🙂
