Missed last week, sorry about that. Things are weird and unsettled here. I’ll be moving in the next 3 – 6 months, so if I disappear again, it’s that. It should be interesting, getting internet out in the literal middle of nowhere.
So, you’re reading snippets. Here’s a couple places you can find some amazing authors – WeWriWa & Snippet Sunday! I’m sure I had something hilarious to say, but it’s been a long week. I’ll try again next time.
PS – they are updating at WordPress, it seems. My links are all pinks!
When I say my life is bizarre right now, trust me. I’ve gotten very little written on Tau Scorpii, but I have planned some promotions for Bloodlines. So, this week, you’re getting a peek at Bloodlines. The upcoming week may be hectic, I can’t tell from here. There will be new words soon, I swear.
The Wildblood Series
A Post-Apocalyptic Action Adventure
No one remembers what started the war, the big one. Civilization stopped, and what came next was fueled by rage and fear.
Twenty years on, a tiny refuge, a place called The Vista, may be one of the last vestiges of humanity. Isolated, guarded, and hiding a dark secret, the people have survived World War Last, and they are content with that. Their children, however, are not. The search for others will send them out into a world they know nothing about, where the line between enemy and ally is blurred.
In this snippet, the conflict between Council and Command has come to the breaking point. It’s time for Security to regroup and reassess their priorities.

“While you were in the air, Council continued their meeting, or called a new one, depending on your perspective,” Mac warned the group of officers.
“Did they have Security issue warrants for us?” Shan got right to the point.
“They did not, however, they have demanded the files from Manitou. Command will surrender them, but we considered this, when we wrote the reports.”
“So there’s nothing to worry about?” Taylor asked.
“The only people now who might have issues are Wade, and Capt. Allen.” The irony didn’t escape Mac – he’d been the one to fire anti-tank missiles into the bunker, killing Rafe and an unknown number of his people. None of that information existed, on paper, and in fact, a significant percentage of the reports were fabricated.
“Wade’s in the wind,” Green verified.
“Maybe they’ll send someone to arrest me,” Shan scoffed.

That’s it. With this book, the story arc is complete. I can’t say I won’t revisit this world again, but Tau Scorpii is next. Promos follow.
Bloodlines: Book 3 of The Wildblood
Learning the truth about the Altered, and the legacy of The Vista, is the first priority of Team Three. It may earn them exile from their home. They know this. Failure is not an option. Loyalty has its price. So does revenge. Someone has to pay.

This sounds like a good resolution for most of them — but not quite all. Does that mean there’s still more of the book to come after this?

More of that book, yes, and another story arc could happen.

I detect hints of backstory and get a sense of impending trouble – good to rouse interest

Interesting hints of this and that, and I love that the reports were written so that if and when they were requested, they’d show only what the characters wanted. Great detail! Enjoyed the excerpt…

At this stage, Shan is pretty hard to rattle. 🙂 Good snippet!
I hope your move goes smoothly–and that internet in the middle of nowhere isn’t problematic–at least not any more problematic than it is elsewhere. 😉

It’s very good they had this as a contingency. Good snippet, S.A.

I love the fabricated reports. If you have to write them you might as well get creative.
